lawrocket 3 #1 July 13, 2004 What a great time right now to follow sport. We've got the Tour de France going on with the quest for an unprecedented 6th Tour win for LA (Of course, had Eddy Merckx not been punched in the ribs by a Frenchman in the crowd, he'd have won 6, too). We've got the tongue-wagging between Ian Thorpe's crowd and Phelps' crowd (even though though Phelps placed second in a freestyle event). Add to that all the Olympic triumph and scandal, it's exciting. We've got the MLB All Star game, where the Rocket will be throwing strikes all night if Piazza puts his head in the strike zone. There's Randy Johnson trade talk, and thoughts of, "Where is he gonna go?" We've got trade talks abounding in the NBA. The British Open is this weekend. Hockey transactions are occurring at a slow pace - what will happen following the expiration of the CBA? It's a great time to be a sports fan, and a nice way to put so much of the bad stuff of this world behind. Go Lance. Go Phelps (yeah, I'm buying into the hype). Go turn on the tube and have some fun.. My wife is hotter than your wife.
PLFKING 4 #2 July 13, 2004 And don't forget....college football starts next month. Rooting for Lance to get his 6th. Don"When in doubt I whip it out, I got me a rock-and-roll band. It's a free-for-all."
CanuckInUSA 0 #3 July 13, 2004 Historically I've always been interested in the Olympics. But something is just not there for me this year. I guess I will watch a little "Oly" action on Mondays and Tuesday evenings (nights that I'm usually free). But with my volleyball on teams playing on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, plus jumping on Friday evening, Saturdays and Sundays, I'd rather be out participating in a sport than be at home watch the boob-tube. It will probably never happen, but wouldn't it be cool if the PST was to compete in the Olympics. I think swooping would do well in such a venue. piisfish 140 #4 July 13, 2004 and also don't forget this... QuoteAfter the success of the Spring Boogie, 5300 jumps among which exceptional organized jumps in all dimensions, the Lapalisse dropzone is happy to welcome you at the fourth edition of the EUROPEAN FLYING CONVENTION from July 14 to 18. Our team has gathered again around Eli THOMPSON and Charles BRYAN (FlyBoyz), Loïc JEAN-ALBERT (Soul Flyer), Tom NAEF (Babylon) and Cathy BOUETTE in Freefly, Milko HODGKINSON, Benji REFFET, and Sandy LABATTU (national female 4-way team member) in formation skydiving. And since the boogie never stops, Wendy SMITH and Tim PORTER will put their talent at the service of the daily videos, while DJ Richie TUNE RAIDER will be the master of ceremony of your parties. The SKYVAN and SUPER OTTER Hotel-Charlie will be dropping at the altitude of 4500 m (14800 ft) all the boogie long with no extra cost. European Flying Convention will be the last big date before the Espace Boogie, and a good occasion to come and show where you fit in the preparation of the groups. I'll be there for the weekend...scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

CanuckInUSA 0 #6 July 13, 2004 QuoteSo, if the PST were in the Olympics on a sunny, low wind Sunday, would you watch it? Probably not as I'd still rather be a participate than a spectator. But that's why recordable VCRs were invented right? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
