Help! Brain-Dead for New Ideas for Research Paper!!

I haven't gotten myself into a tight Spot (yet...), but I'm REALLY having a hard time thinking of a 7 - 10 page Persuasive Research Essay to write..
I would like to do something Skydiving-related, but what Can I research & argue that Wuffos would Understand??
It would be really easy to do the standard Abortion/Marijuana/Gay Marriage/Gun Control Paper, but I've REALLY gotten sick and tired of writting about those topics..

Any ideas you DZ.comers have would be greatly appreciated!!

and if thats toooooo easy, write about uhhhh why taking risks for enjoyment (such as skydiving), helps you grow as a person and enjoy life more. thats the best i got sorry.

What about persuading them that skydiving probably isn't as dangerous as they think it is? I know most whuffos I know think there are a lot more fatalities in the sport than there really are. You could use the statistics that the USPA puts out every year to show how the fatalities are broken down into occurance.

You may wish to read this thread regarding Organ Donation. The assignment was a Persuasive Speech.

As the Professor, I was persuaded and made the requisite changes to communicate that my organs be donated. The student received an "A."

How about seat belt laws, or helmet laws for motorcycles? Either for or against. Personally I feel that if you are too dumb to wear a helmet/seatbelt, we don't need your genes in the pool, go right ahead and kill/maim yourself. But that is just my humble opinion.

I support stoner lesbian abortions as long as they are married, going to donate the fetus's organs, as long as the doctor can carry a concealed weapon. Oh yeah, they can't get their abortion unless they wear their seatbelts to and from the clinic.

Oh hell no!! Registered republican, generally vote that way but not always. Guess I'm middle of the road leaning conservative. I just have no patience for stupidity. Of course I also think that I should be the reigning queen of vetoing reproductive rights for individuals who have litters of children and never take care of them.

Your teacher is tired of reading those topics, too . And I disagree that they're easier. It's very difficult to persuade someone to change his or her opinion on those aforementioned issues.

I think writing about skydiving would be fun. But a persuasive essay? Hmm. Perhaps chose one or more controversial issues within skydiving, such as the use of particular equipment. Research about it and write it. Don't think of your audience as your teacher, but a fellow skydiver.
