Skydiving Weddings?

Since getting married has been a subject lately both here and at my home DZ, maybe you can help me?

I am a new minister and would like to offer my services to have skydiving, hot air balloon, etc weddings or vow renewals. I’ve heard plenty of people talk about it but I’m curious as to how much interest there really is. I’ll do traditional (on the ground) weddings too if they insist.
(Officiants for hire in my area cost around $150-$200 just to do a ceremony and that's on the ground!)

Your poll is incomplete. Unless you meant to exclude:

"I want/had a non-traditional wedding but don't/didn't want a skydiving wedding."

Not to turn this into a 'discussion' but I absolutely wanted a distinction between my (love) life and my sport.

Of course, most of our friends were there - many of which were skydivers. Including our "officiant" which happened to be my husband's freefly team mate.

So, plenty of 'skydiving' nuances, but non-'skydiving' wedding.

I think the $200 fees are crazy! (Unless of course you want me to fly to another state or something.)

I had friends trying to get married cheap and simple and they ended up just doing the JOP but weren't really happy with it. Things like that inspired me to do this.

I'm fine with just covering my slot.

We're having an "on the ground wedding" that's semi-non-traditional. A nice country wedding in a country chapel...

So I guess you are a "I have no interest in a non-traditional wedding" person.

I'm not excluding the traditional wedding people, those are easier to find. I'm just looking for the interest level in something a little different.

Personally I'd go for a traditional but with a skydiving theme like you did.

Hmm...what's the wedding date again? I've been looking for somewhere warm for vacation.

That lodge is amazing! I'd fly out to TX just to stay there! Gotta love a secluded cabin in the country with a 2 person jacuzzi!

Yeah, no joke, this place is very nice! The cabins kick ass too! Morgan and I are gonna stay at the Hill Country cabin.
