quade 4 #3 July 15, 2004 Wow, those Air Force flight physicals are a hell of a lot more intense than the civilian ones. I've never given blood, let alone 8 vials, for any flight physical. Hopefully nothing is wrong and just realized you need to pee in yet another cup.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Unstable 9 #11 July 15, 2004 QuoteAt least I could have had a little fun with the other cadets There was a Jumper at our DZ a year or so ago who was in AFROTC at KSU and went off to do the course. What did he learn? - Keep your damn mouth shut. If the Instructors find out you know something, They'll make an example out of you to get the other Cadets to listen up... =========Shaun ==========

Icon134 0 #16 July 15, 2004 Quote instructor at the airforce academy... teaching skydiving to the cadets... I want to get that assignment... ok... that's not entirely true... I want to get an assignment as an academy instructor (Engr Mechanics or something)... while moonlighting as an AFF/10sec delay Academy Freefall Instructor (they don't do 5 sec delay... the worst part would be the 400 Square foot student rigs they put you on...) can officers get into that program? Who'd you talk to? inquiring minds want to know. ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
larsrulz 0 #17 July 15, 2004 Good luck with that Wingnut. I went through my first few jumps out there (when I was a cadet there). It is more of a seven second delay if I remember correctly. Hope you don't mind having to upsize to jump (even the instructors were stuck with min size of about 170)...and hook turns...yeah, not gonna happen. It will be lots of boring work (but lots of jumps), but they do have a few fun things to do, like one of the NCOs gets to be cameraman for a competition team. Also, you won't be teaching most cadets to skydive, that is done by other cadets, but you will do AFF for those cadets who get to become jumpmasters. And Icon, there is only one or two (non-pilot) officers connected to the program, and they are in leadership roles...like everything in the military, the officers can't actually get their uniforms dirty. I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF
