skybytch 273 #3 July 15, 2004 Reserve online. I've had good luck reserving rentals using Orbitz, but I'm sure any of the travel websites would be just as good. Last two cars I've rented were around $18 a day reserving that way. Remember that Mustang I had Memorial Day weekend? Heh... $18 a day....

crwmike 0 #6 July 15, 2004 QuoteAnyone have any great tips? Thinking about renting a car for Rantoulio from MDW. Online air tickets have save me some money here and there but the big savings has been on car rentals. Don't go with Obitz, et al, but check the web site of your airport destination and check all the car rental companies listed. For example, I have a midsized car reserved at ONT later this month. Cost me $96 for four days with the spread going past $400. I've found this to be typical just about every time I travel. By going to the car rental site, you can catch some deals. Budget had (has?)a special on their site: pay with Mastercard, get 20% off and a free upgrade. So, at RDU two weeks ago, for four days, I paid $84 for a Mercury Marquis. Check em all!
