skybytch 273 #4 July 18, 2004 Noice! This means the first Nationals I'll be competing in will be at my "spiritual home" dz. And it means I can stay with the parents before and after the competition. They'll think it's cuz I want to visit with them, they don't need to know it's really because I want to save a few bucks.

ltdiver 3 #6 July 18, 2004 They're breaking ground for a new big 'common room' too this weekend. It's rumored to be housing a new plasma screen theater tv! The room will be a meeting place for big-ways during the season (with smaller dubbing stations for visiting teams) and the location of the 'fish-bowl' during Nat'l's. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

ltdiver 3 #8 July 18, 2004 QuoteAny word if there are plans to improve the landing area? There are rumors, but nothing that I've heard that substantiates it. I'll see if I can talk with Ben or Pat today and get back with you. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Horray!!!! this is my biggest peeve about Perris vs Eloy.. you cant causally 'lurk' other peoples dive debreifs as there is no large common area like there is in the hanger at Eloy... very cool...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. ChasingBlueSky 0 #12 July 19, 2004 What was the reason for having it at the same dz two years in a row? Are bids now going to be like the PIA symposium?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... bbarnhouse 0 #13 July 19, 2004 QuoteWhat was the reason for having it at the same dz two years in a row? Are bids now going to be like the PIA symposium? Not necessarily. It is my understanding that Perris had a 2 year plan that included a media event. Skydive Arizona proposed something similar a few years back. At that time it was expressed by Board Members that a venue shouldn't have Nationals 2 consecutive years. Kudos to Perris.Additionally it was thought that SDAZ should not host Nationals since it has the World Cup 2005. I offer that the World Cup was awarded to the United States, the venue just happens to be in Arizona. Now...about that landing area! Skydive Arizona will support Perris in both 2004 & 2005
