BoostedXT 0 #4 July 19, 2004 Its a scam...they have been around for a while. Different people trying the same old shit. My sister handles frauds like this when she worked for the DA's office and now the Secret Service. You basically send them the item and the cash....they then run the casheirs check and find out low funds...you are the one who has to make up the difference....so they get your item + cash...and you actually spend out of pocket money. Run far away. JoeFor long as you live and high you fly and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry and all that you touch and all that you see is all your life will ever be. It's not as much of an issue now that most eBay transactions are paid for via PayPal or similar online payment services, but in the early days of eBay, money orders and cashier's checks were the most common method of payment. Most people would ship an item immediately if they received a money order or cashier's check, but they would hold the item until a personal check cleared. What most people didn't realize is that money orders and cashier's checks can be declined by your bank if the purchaser has declared them "lost or stolen" and received a refund. That's how I got hosed on a camera I sold. After that, I always waited for money orders and cashier's checks to clear, just like personal checks. Once I explained why, most customers were pretty understanding. --DouvaI don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.
