Brian425 0 #1 July 20, 2004 So the hand is busted up. No skydiving, no motorcycle, no jetski. Hell, they would not even let me go horseback riding. So this Sunday, during a rainy day at the shore I found myself doing a puzzle. You know, a jig saw puzzle. What happened to my life??? I used to be a fun guy. I used to do exciting things with great people. I pray for my death. (just kidding) I can't wait. 7/27/04, the pins come out. Then another cast for 3 more weeks. And the vicodin is running out. I need to get up to the ranch, get drunk and try not to fall in my hand. I even thought about doing a tandem. God I am desperate. hookitt 1 #2 July 20, 2004 It's temporary. Get over it You are more fortunate than you could ever imagine. Seriously
Brian425 0 #3 July 20, 2004 I know I am lucky. Just pissed that it happened mid summer. It's just funny how my weekends have changed. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
hookitt 1 #4 July 20, 2004 You sound puzzled.. just kidding. That was really bad so forget about the polite laughter. I hear ya I was broken recently but it was quite a reminder of how good I have it. Crutches make you stronger, people take care of you with out asking. It's amazing. It's not permanant so what the heck. Thanks for the reminder. My brother took care of me big time for a few days. I will call him now to see how he's doing. I try to thank them every chance I get...and remember even when I get annoyed with them, that they put aside everything, money, and their schedules to baby me, and help me when I was broken...... ~R+R...Do count yourself lucky...and even doing puzzles can be fun...or do what I did...watch the History Channel almost 24/7...I became an expert on the weirdest things....Oh yeah, and there is PW......~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~... dragonflytx 0 #7 July 20, 2004 If it's any consolation, I just got scheduled for surgery on Wednesday--tore the ligaments in my thumb The news wouldn't have been quite as bad if I hadn't spent all afternoon Sunday in the clinic for the stupid thing only to be sent home with instruction to contact an orthopedic surgeon today. Insult to injury, the attending actually originally diagnosed it as a dislocated thumb and tried twice to set it for me before throwing in the towel--adds a whole new dimension to pull my finger

Brian425 0 #9 July 20, 2004 I'm lucky to have good friends. We are having "the cripple weekend" We'll only do things that I can do one handed. So far the list is drinking, bowling, drinking, hitting the boardwalk, drinking, hitting the bars at the shore. It should be fun. I'll be back soon. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
