Good friends you might not meet

Recommended Posts

Words are still words, no matter whether they are spoken from a distance of 2 feet or typed from 2 countries away. They mean the same thing, they are conveyed with the same emotions and can move you just the same. Meeting people far away only gives you one more reason to get up and see the world… one day my friend. You’re a sweet guy cocheese, spend time with the people around you, give them your love and respect and in time the people who are far away will make their way to you.

As usual, I could never say it any better.

There are a few on here that have become true friends (I hope), whether or not I will ever meet them doesn't matter....they matter to me.....in my heart.

Yes, I do. I have some of the most amazing friends I've met through DZ.com, and who would move heaven, earth, and dead bodies should the need arise.

I have indeed been blessed with those who have become true friends; those who are loyal, kind, considerate, compassionate. Those who are funny, friendly, and persistent in their friendship. Who would, when the chips were down, protect me, regardless of if I knew of that treachery or not.

Some of them I have met. Some I have not. There is no difference between the two; friendship, respect and decency transcends boundaries and financial barricades.

A true friend is someone your heart has met, and not simply someone you have already met, or physically spent time with. I have met many people from this place, and some of the truest friends are people I may never meet face to face. These are the treasures of the world. Those who would be friends if they knew how to be, or those who friendship only exists when times are good - I've met those too. But those few who are real friends, trustworthy and honest in their friendship...those are not necessary to meet, but will remain true regardless of physical distance.

To those true friends, both far and near, I say "thank you. And may your road be easier as you've made mine easier."

My interpretation of a good friend is someone who is there through the good times and the rough times, who supports me in my conquests, is always there with a kind word or a kick in the pants when I need it, who listens when I talk and I know will always be there. One who inspires me to be the best person I can be.:)
So in answer to your question, yes I have a few people that I've never met and might not ever meet, that I am priviledged to call my friends. A few weeks ago, I was actually talking to one of them about this very thing. I told him that it was amazing, we've known each other for about 2 years, have never met, but we've been through so much together. I know that if I need him he's never more than a call away. Especially when I'm at the dz and I'm nervous, I get all warm and fuzzy when I call and he tells me to "shut-up and get in the plane.":D

Every now and then people drift off in another direction, but your real friends will always find their way back. To those of you I've met and the ones I hope to meet, I just want to say thank you. I carry you with me in my heart and I want you to know that my life is richer for having met you. (Or not met as the case may be;)) I hope that I'm as good a friend to you as you have been to me.

What an awesome thread.:)

I hope we meet someday Jimbo.

Dang ... I've been unfortunate to have met Jimbo not once, but twice and wish I hadn't. :S Just pulling your leg though. There's nothing wrong with Jimbo. He's a good guy and lost a bunch of weight from the first time I met him. ;)

who says it has to be in the sky........ i've met a couple people here just on the ground

You know I don't think I've met a single DZ.COMer in the air (I can see it ... I'm in freefall and I introduce myself to someone ... nah it's not going to happen that way). Every DZ.COMer I have ever met has been on the ground.

I have met my share of DZ.COMers by attending boogies, visiting other DZs and of course by having them visit the DZs I frequent. It's kind of cool when you meet someone and then later find out that they are so and so. And of course there are many more DZ.COMers I have yet to meet and would like to meet.

The one DZ.COMer that hopefully everyone gets to meet is the Head Honcho (Sangiro). He's one cool cat.;)
