mirochristie 0 #1 July 27, 2004 Here is a comic strip form a series called: Yenny. A friend of mine created her and here is his message: Quote Today's strip! Today Yenny's setting is in Puerto Rico's local TV show called "El Show de las 12". I used to work in that show as a puppeteer, (yeah, believe it or not), and it was fun to see how many artists, who later became big stars, like Melina León, Mark Anthony, Ricky Martin and so on...they all performed their songs there when they were unknown. Eddie Miró, (the host with the big smile in the strip), became a very good friend and a mentor so it took only a few comic strips before he ended as part of one of the jokes. (This one's for you, Ed!). Even funnier was the fact that many models, including girls who became Miss Universe later, started as young models who carried a basket with some prize inside. So that's good for Yenny! (That was a hint for future things to come, so keep reading) Here's the strip: English: http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=csaeb Español: http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=csbum I hope you like it... I think he is very talentedLiquidSky @(^_^)@

VanillaSkyGirl 6 #6 July 27, 2004 Quoteit's a blend of culture and a-girl-sort-of-thing ~~ Hi girls! Meli, you are such a sweetheart and so open to diversity. I love that, but I truly do not think that this comic strip humour is a cultural thing. I am positive that my brothers would never understand it. I think that it's a girlie joke. Explanation: It seems that Yenny became green with envy at this other girl being given attention. Right? Then, a cat fight began... Christie, thank you for the cute comic strip, and I am soo looking forward to spending time chatting with you in a couple of weeks!!!
 scottbre 0 #7 July 27, 2004 Quote Explanation: It seems that Yenny became green with envy at this other girl being given attention. Right? Then, a cat fight began... [analysis of comic strip humor] No explanation needed. I'm sure we all understood that aspect of the comic. But comic strips generally have some barb of humor at the end that makes them funny. Two girls trying to upstage each other isn't particularly funny, since it's just showing that behavior, instead of a humorous consequence or setting that would make it otherwise "comic". Had this been part of a larger body of work that is part of a story, then it would make more sense, and there wouldn't be the expectation that it's supposed to be immediately funny, as is the case when someone posts a single panel of a comic. I understand how in a larger context the panel is funny, but without going to the website and reading the extra comments (that you posted) or other previous panels, it doesn't really stand on it's own. There are several really good comic strips out there that have a more continuing story line, and thus are funnier if you're already familiar with the characters and their personalities. Sinfest (SFW) is another good example of this. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!"
