livendive 8 #1 July 27, 2004 So how does your hometown stack up? http://www.city-data.com/ I thought mine (West Richland, WA) looked ok, then I looked at the "Top 100" lists. Man, housing in Texas is apparently really cheap on a cost of living basis, but check out Fort Knox, Kentucky where most people can buy a home with 5 months wages! (median household income $34,020, median house value $14,200) Of course on the other end of the spectrum is Isla Vista, California, where the median household income is $16,151 and the median house vaule is $402,400). That'd be depressing! Blues, Dave (yes, I'm a bit geeky )"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)
skymama 37 #2 July 27, 2004 That's a pretty cool site. I found these statistics interesting about my city: Black race population percentage significantly above state average. Institutionalized population percentage above state average. Percentage of population with a bachelor's degree or higher below state average. It was a surprise that they would list the "black race population" as a statistic about the city. The other two...well, it just makes you wanna move here, doesn't it?
