Please send vibes and/or prayers to flygirl03

Recommended Posts

She injured her chest in a hard landing. She is in excrutiating pain. We've been pm'ing back and forth. Good news is, she will recover. But in the meantime, she could use some nice vibes and/or prayers.

Thanks,

She injured her chest in a hard landing

totally screwed up landing on my part, but i would have walked away unhurt... if i weren't wearing a chest mount altimeter.

needless to say, i won't wear one again.
i never used it anyway.. always used my wrist alti..

Don't watch any comedy. Laughing makes it suck worse

so does sneezing and coughing (#**@ allergies)

Get a good firm pillow, use it as a splint when you have to cough or sneeze... helps a LOT.

Something like a throw pillow for the couch, but really firm....

thanks mike.
i have found if i just lean over and hold my chest, and try to cough Gently, it isn't TOO bad.

sleeping is worst!!! i felt really good last night, but now, this morning, the pain is back. i tried sleeping on my back and used a heating pad for a couple hours....
still hurts B|
im getting there, though... slowly .. just very happy nothing broke

Yep, that's what the pillow is for, to help you "splint" yourself.

Hardest part for me when I had broken ribs was getting up in the morning. It may be hard to find a position that doesn't hurt, but you'll find it eventually.

(Okay all you pervs, I'm talking about positions to SLEEP in!! Yeesh...)

Heating pads are good... I think that was the only way I got through the first 3 weeks or so... sleeping on the opposite side with a heating pad on "low" over the broke stuff. Quite an interesting set of bruises for several weeks, too!

Hope you're feeling better and back in the air soon!

What a crappy way to get hurt![:/]

I have thought often about adding an altimeter to my leg strap for use while tracking, but that could hurt you too.

I've never liked chest mounts because of their ability to smack you on opening.

Again, what a shitty way to get hurt.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

im still jumping student gear and that rig was the only one packed for me to use for that load. the straps were too long and my whole canopy ride, the alti was right at my chin...
