Brian425 0 #1 July 30, 2004 Ok, I admit it. I'm spoiled. I'm an otter baby. Big, fast and roomy, I love the otter. I have only 1 jump from a Cessna. It was nice, the people I jumped with were cool and the pilot was fun. But I still love the otter. Are there any advantages to jumping an otter vs cessna (182/205)? Any disadvantages? One thing I found strange on my cessna jump was so few canopies. Just my 2 way and the tandem. I was a little worried when I first opened because I could only find 2 canopies. I felt a little lonely The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.

kelel01 1 #3 July 30, 2004 Actually, the lack of congestion in the sky and constant good spot (assuming the spotter knows what he or she is doing) would be two big pluses for me as far as Cessnas vs. Otters. But, I'm a Super King Air/Otter baby as well (one jump from a 182), so it's not that I prefer Cessnas. Those are just two pluses I can come up with for them. And $ of course. larsrulz 0 #4 July 30, 2004 QuoteAre there any advantages to jumping an otter vs cessna (182/205)? Any disadvantages?Quote Advantages: It is a lot quicker to altitude, it can hold more, you can crack the door on those super hot days. Disadvantages: It is a lot more expensive for the DZ to run, so in turn you'll be charged a bit more as a jumper. And....ummm...you'll probably be going quicker on jump run. Oh, and you need more people to keep a turbine running than your average 182. Two jumpers can normally get a 182 up....turbines range anywhere from 6-10.
