CloudOnMyTongue 0 #1 August 1, 2004 So I've got this bike, and it fell down. The back tire is wobbley now, ( just a little ), it rubs up against the brake when you flip it upside down and spin the tire. It's only slightly annoying trying to ride it. Now can one fix a wobbley tire? Or due I need to buy a new rim? Can I do this myself? Should I take it to a bike shop or should I go to Canadian Tire and buy a new wheel? BoostedXT 0 #2 August 1, 2004 I am guessing pedal bike.. Go to a shop and have them do it...you can easily do it yourself if you have a spoke wrench, but I am guessing you dont. Basically you losen opposing spokes and tighten others in order to "pull" the back into true. CloudOnMyTongue 0 #3 August 1, 2004 Yes it's normal pedal bike, and your right, I don't have a spoke wrench. So how much will they charge me? I'm just wondering if it's going to be like $10 or $40? AND, thank you.
cvfd1399 0 #4 August 1, 2004 Loosen the oposite spokes half a turn and tighten the oposite spoke half a turn and then spin the tire. Where it rubs "tighten it away from the rub". until it is straight. If the rim has a flat spot, that is if it goes up and down instead of wobbles it needs to go to a bike shop. pleifer 0 #6 August 2, 2004 you can get a whole new rim for like 80-100 for an average quality rim, so I would assume that pulling it back into true would not cost that much from a bike shop. learn from my mistake and just take it in, trying it yourself unless you are experianced will probably make it worse. trueing a bikes wheel I could never do _________________________________________ The Angel of Duh has spoke
