eeneR 3 #1 August 6, 2004 Or is this just not taking chances? I drove to work today, which happens to be downtown Chicago. That means that my van is in a parking garage. There was no way in hell i was leaving my rig, unattended in a non-secure garage. So I hauled it into the office with me. So am i being paranoid or just smart? Oh and is it 3:15pm central yet?She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
AggieDave 6 #2 August 6, 2004 Not paranoid at all! I don't trust people to not break into my truck and still my gear. And its kinda obvious when I leave my gear on my bike...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
CrazyIvan 0 #3 August 6, 2004 You're not paranoid but smart, on the other hand, I'm paranoid because I bring my car to my cubicle...I don't trust the security at my job. __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. freeflir29 0 #4 August 6, 2004 Not at all. I wouldn't leave my weapon in a car all day and neither would I leave my rig. That's just smart. If someone steals your car it kinda sucks but you can go to a dealer the same day and replace it if you need to. Can't really do that with a rig. It could take months to get replacements and it's still not "the same."
eeneR 3 #5 August 6, 2004 Damnit! i just remembered i left the brand new, un opened bottle of Don Julio in the van!!! oh shit!!! Heehee..my work would love to see that...a parachute, and a bottle of tequila...i have my priorites straight!!! Roflmao...course if someone steals my pillow, airmattress or sleeping bag out of the van...someone will pay She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
Conundrum 1 #6 August 6, 2004 I would have done the same thing.
 AndyMan 7 #7 August 6, 2004 It depends on weather the rig was in view, or not. If you've got a solid trunk (aka, not a hatchback or wagon) or got a cargo cover, I would have absolutely not trouble leaving anything of value in my car in downtown Chicago. I live in downtown Chicago. I've left my rig, all my camera gear, plus countless other expensive things under the cargo cover in my car, many times. I've parked my car in downtown Chicago for 4 years now, and never had it broken in to. I do make sure to keep anything of value out of sight, though.
