ltdiver 3 #26 August 7, 2004 I noticed a change in my hearing acuity when I started a new job that employed manual blood pressure cuffs (instead of automated, digital ones). I -could not- hear the heart beat when monitoring a patient's BP! This scared me enough that I started wearing ear plugs on the Otter on the way up. Within 6 months enough sensitivity came back to my ears that I could hear the faint beat of my patient's rhythm again. I now wear ear plugs every time I'm in the plane. A simple protection with positive results. Any loud, consistent noise (music or not) WILL damage your hearing. Take action NOW and stop the loss. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

blitzkrieg 0 #29 August 7, 2004 The easiest cure for hearing loss like that is to just look at the person talking to you, nod your head and smile. Just pretend you understand, chances are they weren't saying anything of any merit anyway. That's why i prefer email to phone. ~E
