Sponsor for WFFC????

Something just came up that will put me in the relative vicinity of Rantoul this weekend. I'd sure like to regester at WFFC as a non skydiver and roam around and see if any of my old buds are there and hang at the DZ.com tent some also if that's OK.
The registration instructions say that all non skydivers need to be sponsored by a friend. Could anyone who's gonna be there on Sunday be my friend? Just need a name to give. Could somebody help me, PLLLEEEZZZZ.

Do you still have a logbook? If so, carry it with you.. I'm sure showing registration your book. You will qualify as a jumper

Yeah, I was take my D license and logbooks with me but without a current USPA card it probably wouldn't do any good.

Oh jeez c'mon those people are jumpers too I'm sure (at least I would hope so) so they can tell you used to jump and know your way around a DZ etc.. It's probably for security reasons they dont want non-jumpers roaming around.

I really think if you showed up with your old D and a logbook, you'd be waved on in. Just explain you are meeting some people at the DZ.com booth/tent oh and offer beer

Seriously if I was going I wouldn't have a problem sponsoring ya. But I'm stuck in Houston Texas until hell freezes over.

Good luck and I really don't think you'll have much of a problem getting into the DZ area. Please post what happens. I'm curious now as to if you can get in as an ex-jumper.

edit to add: I don't see why you would have to have a valid USPA Lic. I mean people fly in from all over the world to go to the WFFC. As long as you know your way around a Dropzone and aren't going to wander into a spinning prop... They shouldn't have a problem letting you on the grounds.
