Canopy Control Course

Recommended Posts

Yeah, so okay..I took Scott Miller's course with Jimmy T. It's AWESOME! Great insight to getting the best performance out of your canopy and being ready for any situation...but...I have more work to do after swooping the runway:o:D. I'm forever "the student";)

I only took a pic of one knee...but both took a beating. Stiff, but I'm okay...thanks to aloe and neosporin. I shredded my camo's from pantz to shorts :Dand did back to back loads with bloody camo's:o:D

From the video's perspective, it looked kuhl!:D

It's a great place for "accuracy training":D

Honestly, Scott Miller's course is really good! I'm sure I'll have my "ah hah" moment soon (of course when the video ISN'T on:D) He works on flat turns, stalling your canopy (freakin pucker factor!), bad spots/cross country ie: getting back to a safe target, and finding your canopy's "sweet spot"...all huge for me!

No knowledge comes without pain. Good it's just badly scraped knees and a bruised ego.

Heal, then try that landing again, huh? :)

I didn't stop for healing...I kept going:S with bandages and all..3 more, same day..I was a champ (so they said) :D I now have new visual cues and a new strategy. Scraped knees and a bruised ego is nothing compared to what it could've been...NO WIND...Swoopy poop:D But it's all good.....;) After Hurricane Charley passes tomorrow, we're GIDDYUP for Sat/Sun!B|

I took his course last weekend, and it was great. Although I must say that 4 of those landings were the worse I have had yet (of course they would be as he was video taping them). The one landing I had that was good and actually landed on my feet, he did not get on video, go figure :S. I would recommend this course to anyone and what made it really nice is that Scott is such a nice, down to earth guy.

I had a bad landing where I skidded on my ass on the runway with his course too. He told me a lot of people mess up their landings because we get fixated on the skills we are working on and forget about everything else.

Very true. The course taught me to tune into how the "sweet spot" feels vs. toggle/arm position.
