goalie35 0 #7 August 13, 2004 OK, so all the surgical cases done at UNC Hospitals here in Chapel Hill are input into an integrated, computerized system. This system shows OR availability, orders supplies, drives the billing office...basically, everything depends on it. Still with me? At about 10:30 AM, we're supposed to send the schedule to get anesthesia teams assigned for the next day (today, that's Monday), then put them into the system and disseminate the schedule to the end users. Only at 9:30, the whole system went Tango Uniform. When it "recovered", it had reversed all the changes made this morning, and no one could make new changes. No ETA on a fix. In the meantime, we had to cobble together a half-assed schedule in Excel, and get that out. I was supposed to be at work until 3:30 this afternoon; I got to leave at 4:00...to go to Duke Hospital at Durham to go to work! Once there, it was the usual Friday evening disaster...the day shift was in the usual hurry to go, and didn't bother to tell me half the stuff that was going on. I'm just hoping they got everthing at least somewhat right, but history's against me.... I do this to make money for my rig, so I can start jumping again--it better be as good as I remember! I got to come to work today to finish up some loose ends.. The first samples for my newest inventions are ready so I got to play with those.. All in all.. I am not having a shitty Friday the 13th..
