Zenister 0 #26 August 17, 2004 QuoteSimple tests for a true Mexican restaurant. 1. There should be no English language songs on the jukebox except for selected Brittany Spears songs. 2. 90% of the customers should be wearing silver-tipped roach-killers. 3. Conversation should stop for a moment when a non-Hispanic person enters while they are evaluated. 5. There should be a gaggle of skydivers there every sunday pounding cadillac margaritas____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. skybytch 273 #28 August 17, 2004 Quote I recomend NOT looking for REAL mexican food in Rantoul IL either. I'll second that. It wasn't that it was bad food, it just wasn't anything like the Mexican food at the place down the street from my house in California.

Yup, last place i went in San Antonio (INSIDE the loop Racer42) We walked in and sat down and everyone looked at us funny, (three white boys) then we ordered a dish that was really spicy with a chipotle sauce on top and were drinking coronas. The waitress commented to us (in spanish only) that all the other waitresses were laughing at us "silly gringo's" for eating chiles and drinking cerveza. Isn't that the same as Burger King not having any burgers? I've heard good things about Soho Cantina on Prince Street. I've never been but I can check out the menu on the way home if you want. Also, Mexican Radio on Lafayette St is a popular lunch spot for many of my co-workers. Let me know if you try them.
