Don't think you have time.. but to help prepare for sea-sickness drink lots of strawberry soda and eat popcorn!! Helps with the sea-sickness, I know this because I live in Houston and used to fish in the Gulf almost every weekend. I've taken many newbs out fishing and this remedy worked flawlessly everytime. Remember stop an get Strawberry Soda & a bag of Popcorn!! Something in the strawberry mixed with popcorn keeps the stomache acid and stuff down. No Ivan, try and visualize strawberry soda and little chewed up popcorn kernels coming back up.. It's hilarious!! Watching a newb to sea legs when their puking.. I'd eat sardines and crackers while drinking a Shiner.. all the while, driving the boat across 3' swells. Up n Down, Up n Down.. no land in sight. Offshore isn't for alot of people. Amazon 7 #9 August 17, 2004 For those who get motion sickness I suggest a dramamine about an hour before getting to my boat... then anotehr one... about 30 minutes before leaving the dock. At the marine supply stores there are also little wrist bands that have a hard marble in them that affects the pressure points on the wrists. I myself am not prone to motion sickness.. but I am a sympathetic hurler.. if you hurl near me and I smell it I have been known to reciprocate. I go across some VERY rough water when I go boating. I keep my sloop at the mouth of the Columbia River and crossing into the ocean there is not for the feint of heart. I LOVE Whitewater sailing
 Slappie 9 #10 August 17, 2004 QuoteFor those who get motion sickness I suggest a huge bottle of strawberry soda & popcorn about an hour before getting to my boat... then some more strawberry soda & popcorn... about 30 minutes before leaving the dock. DO NOT try to read. keeping your eyes on the horizon tells your body that you are moving. 6. drink plenty of water before the trip and during the trip 7. take another dranimine if you start to feel sick on the boat and if all else fails, puke WITH the wind and off the side of the boat. if you puke off the back of the boat, you are "chumming" and your buddies will appreciate it MB 3528, RB 1182
 INSANEDADDY 0 #15 August 18, 2004 We went out last weekend on one of Capitan Elliotts boats in Freeport. We went out 65 miles and had a great time. I was a little hung over from the night before. On the way out I got a little woozy, so at 0530 I popped the top on my first Bud Light of the day. After the first beer I felt like a million bucks. I caught fish and drank beer all day long and felt great. I finished my last beer that night at 10:30 before I went to bed. My biggest fish was 38lb Amberjack. What a fight it was. All in all a great day at sea. ARRRRRRRRRRR.. (Pirates voice) You dont't get to choose how you're going to die.
