moodyskydiver 0 #1 August 21, 2004 Ok, so tomorrow I'm finally making the 120mile trek to start moving into the new college. My stuff is everywhere. I can't seem to remember everything I need to pack, and I feel like I'm quickly losing my mind! Why is this such a big deal? I've been in college for 2 years, albeit a community college less than half the size of my new college. Ofcourse I'll also be living on campus in the dorms, which is new to me aswell. Dammit, I'm stalling. I need to be packing or sleeping or doing other things none of which include postwhoring. I guess I'm a bit nervous. I dont know why considering I'm the "old maid" at age 22 in my suite with 3 other girls between ages 18-20. In less than 12 hours I'll be moving alone to a school and city miles away from everyone I know.eek! Anyone have any valium and willing to share w/a stressed Moody? please? Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

brits17 0 #3 August 21, 2004 Dudette, chill If I have to take a lucky guess, 75% of the peeps at your new university are in the same boat. You'll make friends in no time, and absorbing in the thrill of the 'experience.' On campus living rocks. And props to you, for hanging on to the college days as long as possible. I myself am enjoying the 6.5 year degree plan thoroughly. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Daizey 0 #6 August 21, 2004 Hey this will be my 3rd year and I still get all the pre-move-in jitters! But once I get there and get settled they go away and I always end up having a blast (even last year when i had the roommate from hell!) And I know you are going to have fun too!! Dont be worried about forgetting stuff-you're coming home tomorrow night anyway!!! You're lucky...once i get to school Im stuck there for awhile so when I realize i forgot stuff its either go to walmart and buy it or call mom and dad and ask them to ship it haha...if i decide to go to walmart I still usually have to call my parents to put some money in my empty bank account lol Trust me, soon you are going to be talking about how much you love the place. Im sure you and your roommate will get along well...and if you dont like her or shes mean or something you can just have fun making her life miserable all semester...lol, no just kidding. But remember, if you really dont like your living situation they always give you the option to move to another room.... I have a feeling you are going to love the freedom as well as everything college life has to offer. I think its going to be a great change for you and it'll be an amazing experience! Have fun, and enjoy it! These are supose to be the best years of our lives!!! Best of luck to ya tomorrow, Amber! Make sure you call and let me know how it goes!!! *daizey*
skybytch 273 #7 August 21, 2004 Oh boy do I know that feeling No different than the skydive you did last week. You're at the door. Deep breath. And GO! If you forget to bring something, no worries, you're close enough to "where you used to live" to go pick it up. You know your friends are always here to help if you need us - just like you've been there for us. Have I mentioned lately how proud I am of you? The best advice I can give to you is keep an open mind of your new roommates. I you don't like what they are doing tell your RA or dorm attendant. I think my biggest challenge will be w/my bad knee. I'm trying to keep it from bothering me but living on the 4th floor of a dorm w/no elevator makes for alot of stair climbing...not to mention its downhill from all the rest of campus.Oh well,I'll survive long enogh to find an apartment for next semester. If you're on the DD list feel free to call and keep me company...or atleast beware that I'll be calling some of you if I get bored. Also, anyone from the Houston area DZs be on the look out for me.I'm really hoping to finally get current and finish my requirements for my A after things settle in at school, so I'm looking for a DZ to call home.
