Ever been a Contestant on a Game Show??

Not sure why I'm asking other than I'm curious.

I wouldn't mind winning some cash on TV and putting it toward a new Infiniti ;)

Anybody have a story about when they were on television????????????????????????

I attended a taping of The Price is Right, but I didn't get picked to be a contestant (even after they seemed intrigued that I listed my occupation as "skydiving instructor" during the pre-show interview). If you ever decide to go to a The Price is Right taping, be prepared to get up at the ass crack of dawn and spend about eight hours waiting in various lines before you actually get to see the taping. Despite not being picked as a contestant, I did get to see a couple of rare events. One girl got the $1.00 spot twice in a row on the big wheel (winning her $11,000), and a woman in the showcase showdown guessed within $250 of her own showcase and won both showcases.
I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.

.....:)way way back when it was first on TV.. It was 1966 or so,, and the show was filmed in New York City..
it was before Trebek.. and the host was Art Fleming.. the prize amounts were 10 20 30 40 50 $$$ in the first round
and 20 40 60 80 and 100 $$$ for double jeopardy..... back then all the contestants were "paid" whatever they earned,,, but only the winner continued on....
My Mom won the first game she played,,, and they did the next game.. on the very same day... she took second place on that one..... and so ended her
" reign" she was correct on both final jeopardy questions,,, only got outscored in game 2....

what fun... we,, My Dad and 3 brothers and One sister,, were all SOooooo proud of Mom...
She won 1,150 dollars in "1966 money".....and it went pretty far,,, back then....
There was no video taping then,,, and so Our Dad went out and bought a Polaroid Land Camera,, and we literally took photos of the TV screen,,, with Her on it....... hahahaha...(The show aired about 2 weeks after they filmed it,, and we were allowed to go home from school for an hour to watch it ) .. We still have those snapshots,,,,, here almost 40 years later.....of Mom standing at the podium,, giving the correct questions,,, to the answers...
Mom is still sharp as can be,,, loves crossword puzzles,, reads voraciously and has the best sense of humor in the world... it keeps her young...B|

Nope, but I know two people who have been.

The first was a really whacko funny guy I knew in college named James P. Gray. He was the guy who did all the funny stuff when he was drinking. He was the "daddy" of a bunch of us 'cause he was a senior when we were freshman on our hall.

He was on "Remote Control" on MTV back when it was big in the late '80s. He had the video tape of himself on the show, and I got to watch it once. He won big, made it all the way to the end of the show where they put him on the spinning wheel and he had to identify the groups in a bunch of videos. He got ALL BUT ONE, so he didn't win whatever the grand prize was. [:/]

A good friend of mine from high school named Ian Reifowitz was on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire a couple of years ago (when Regis Philbin hosted). He won $250,000! I watched the broadcast on a t.v. in the library of the newspaper where I work.

I followed along for the first bunch of questions, and my friend had to resort to using a lifeline before I would have had to! :P That made me proud! LOL!

He told me that he and his wife used the money to pay off her medical school bills. I'm sure that took care of most or all of the after-tax income. [:/]
