wmw999 2,584 #3 August 25, 2004 Sure do. I can hear conversations in the airplane just about as well as without. Even when mowing the yard (although I'll admit I don't mow it much any more Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
prepheckt 0 #4 August 25, 2004 On a related note, always and I mean always wear hearing protection when going to a rock concert. I went to see Hoobastank over the summer...I couldn't hear anything for two days....which kinda didn't help me when I got pulled over that night because the police officer kept having to yell really loud to overcome the ringing in my ears though I got off with a warning."Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
Nightingale 0 #5 August 25, 2004 I wear my helmet all the way up to altitude. It blocks out a lot of the noise. Now that I just bought a full face, tho, I'll be investing in earplugs so I don't have to wear it in the plane.

I want to take a (loudometer) what do you call those sound masuring devises with me on a cessna load. and in free fall - just to see how much damage I'm doing. freeflir29 0 #14 August 25, 2004 I usually wear my helmet to block some of the noise. I don't think it's bad enough to worry about.
crutch 0 #15 August 25, 2004 Started wearing them after about fifty jumps, very seldom don't wear them now. But, then again, back several DC-3 loads a day can get real rough on the hearing. I can still hear my wife after 7700 airplane rides, that can be a good thing or a bad thing.blue skies, art
