Her Name Is "Helen"

Recommended Posts

She's black.

She's white.

She's got medium length hair.

She was born this year on my birthday and currently resides in the Halifax shelter.

She picked me out last Friday when we visited. We took her one of Bugs' favorite mousies on Saturday and she took right to it and was playing with it fervently when we left.

She's not Bugs' replacement (no one could be), but she's already found a place in our hearts.

She comes home tomorow.:)

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Oh, how excellent, Jack. You're right, nothing could ever take Bug's place. But that's not what you're doing...you're saving Helen, and adding to your family. Your heart is so big...I wonder if Helen knows how lucky she is to be coming home with you and your lady???

Many congratulations from me, and big huge "thank you purrs" from Esse, Charlotte, Pie, Simon, and Penguin (who still isn't out from under the bed...but is making huge strides in trust and security issues!)

Ciels-
Michele

T and I got a wild hair (well, I actually used to do this on my own anyway) over the weekend and went to the shelter to just look at the animals. Well, opened the cage to one and the kitty crawled out into my arms and snuggled up and just started purring like mad...Awwwwww. Well, T knows I've wanted to get a kitty again (mine passed about 3.5 years ago) so she say 'where do we sign up?'. It didn't sink in immediately until she mentioned that we needed to add Petsmart to the errand list for the day. She isn't home yet and got sick from the time we saw her on Saturday. Called the shelter today and she's still in solitary confinement but her fever is down and she's on meds. Hope she comes home soon...
Anyway - Picture here

Our family's newest member.... he's about 4-5 months old and a little thing. SWMBO thinks he's only going to be about 5-6 lbs full grown.

Definitely a lot of personality... he acts more like a dog than a cat, most of the time.

Congrats on your new furbaby!!!! I'm so happy for you guys! B|

No, she can't replace bugs, but she can create new memories!

We get our new furbaby Katrina (who traveled from FL actually) at the Virginia siamese rescue shelter on Labor Day. She can't replace my sweet baby Layne, but hopefully she can fill the void thats left.

Congrats again! Post pictures!! :)

That's great. It's so hard to lose a beloved pet. They really do bring so much joy into our lives.

Here's my baby. She jumps three feet off the ground and spins every time she sees me - that's if she's not taking a nap. She was no replacement for the Golden we lost very suddenly but she has brought so much happiness. I know Helen will do the same for you.

Be sure to post pics as soon as possible.

Congratulations. I can't go to the shelter, because I know that I'd come home with an armful of cats, and my old cat is set in his ways these days, and not up to the task of raising a kitten or two.

I sometimes go to the mobile SPCA booth on Market Street in San Francisco some stressful work days for some fuzz therapy though.

Well, congratulations! It looks like a lot of us have new additions to our familes! I've got a 12 week old ocicat mix named Spike trying to make friends with Gizmo (14 year old main coon mix) and Tamika (a 5 year old Calico)! He's a sweetie, but the other 2 aren't 100% sure about him just yet!
