You do for white bikinis what Stonehenge did for rocks.

I've never heard THAT one before!:D:D:D
Thank you kindly for the compliment.:$

I had a great time at the WFFC!!!

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard putting it together, to everyone who participated, and to everyone who kept their clothes (mostly) on!;)

Get the bands to take a break at midnight so the RB's can do their thing with out having to scream over the band too

Actually, that's not such a great idea. You have tons of people like me who didn't really participate in that kind of stuff

I remember them cutting out the music MOST nights when they were doing initiations. It was always a packed house watching those initiations...especially, when the women were topless, of course...:D

The one night that I remember them not cutting out the music was the night when Clay was initiated. Although there was the usual crowd during all the intiations, I couldn't even tell when Clay was being initiated exactly because no one was really reacting much vocally since the band kept playing. [:/] I liked it better with no band because it was funnier to watch and hear people reacting to the initiations and singing the Mexican hat dance as the newly initiated Brothers danced their jig on the table...usually topless!!! :D

How about an "alternate entertainment" tent. Maybe with a DJ and dance mucic. There were two bands I liked, Dr something or other (cant' remember), and one other. Otherwise they were just loud and had did way too many Creed covers.

I second that request! Please update the music! Have at least one night or a different music tent with a dance/house music DJ. I've heard the same music at the WFFC since my first in 95, although, I would guess that same sort of music has been playing since it was a Freak Brother Convention.

Yes, more port-a-potties with hand sanatizers. A few running taps and/or water fountains around the area would be great.

A food concession with more veggie options.

The men's showers were disgusting by Monday. I'm not sure if anybody cleaned them during the entire time I was there. The drains were jammed with clumps of hair, bars of soap, band-aids, and god knows what else. Icky. I actually preferred last year's porta-showers to the new prison style shower room.

Somebody already mentioned the free soda was missing. Last year it took a little bit of effort to find, this year I couldn't find it at all.

Bring back CRW organizing. I heard an announcement for CRW on (I think) the first Saturday, and I made sure to wander through the CRW tent a couple of times a day, but I never found anybody there. I can just barely afford one skydiving vacation a year, and next year I might have to choose between WFFC or, say, Crazy CRW at Perris.

Something has to be done about the local kids as well. They were getting in on a nightly basis and hanging around the main tents and beer cart. I saw almost none the last two years and saw a bunch this year. Now they have an entire year to tell their friends which means next year could be worse.

It seemed to me that this was the least attended convention I have been to (this was my 6th). Like Phree said - a lot that this convention offers can be found at smaller and cheaper boogies year round. The WFFC was always THE event to go to because it had options you couldn't get elsewhere. You need something to draw the crowd back and then keep the tickets at a reasonable price. The combination of the typical planes, high gate fee and regaular jump ticket prices is enough to keep people away.

I think the layout could be changed better - have a vendor row where all the vendors are at - my map was lost after the first night and it took me some time to find where some vendors were hiding.

Have all the entertainment in one area like it was the first year at Rantoul. The C130 bar and the hangar bar were nice ideas, you could put Boogie Nights in that area. Keep tent city for tents! The placement of the beer kept people out of the main entertainment tent and on most nights there were only a handful of people checking out the bands.

Having two choppers seemed to make it hard to get the Sirkorsky into the air.

A centralized message board! This way people can place their "for sale" stuff in one place for everyone to look at instead of placing it on my car (I'm still scraping the paper off my windshield after it got wet from the rain). Also - this is a place where you could list the days events. I missed most of the GK demos, Skyhook demos, swoop contests, etc because I was out of earshot of the PA system.

Yup! I wouldn't have gone except to see people like Mary, Bill, Amy, and other people that I see there every year.

a separate stripper bar.

Good idea ;)

As far as the music, we need some new Rantoul Radio songs. Disco Duck is funny once or twice but more modern and diverse would be good too.

>:(WTF was that September 11th song? That's just what I want to hear before I jump. [:/]

Next year we should get L-39 jumps for the price of a B-17... :)

Okay, so I'm boring, but I'd rather have a place to have beers and talk with a few of my friends and have good music playing in the background.

Then i'm boring too cause thats what i like.

I liked it when the beer tent was between the food and music tent. I do remember the DJ/dance tent 2 years ago and nobody was ever there so i assume thats why it hasn't come back.

Overall i know it's a lot of work to make the WFFC happen. And i know Beth and Berniece will forward our thoughts/opinion on to Don. With each year they learn what can be done to make it better and i'm sure it will keep evolving.

EMT: (after I crash landed directly in front of her after setting up waaaay short in the spectator area at WFFC 2004) You alright? You couldn't have landed in a better place if you were hurt...

Last year, a guy in our group was in the EMT tent getting fixed up.
EMT, "So you're Bill."
"Mmmm...yeah, why?"
"That blonde chick keeps coming over here every time someone gets hurt to make sure it isn't you."

I was speaking with Mayor Neil and his wife Saturday night and they asked me what they needed to change to make it better. I told them it was already fantastic, but more specialty aircraft, can you say JET, would definately be appreciated.

He said that was the number one answer.;)

That is simple - Just make sure I am there next year.

I would like to see the swoop contest and other "speciality landings" (Lugi's) organized better and take place when they say they are going to. I sat around waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting to watch when I could have still been jumping.

I had a great time but I stayed in a hotel so I didn't have a problem when things got too loud - I just left.

I liked the band they had on the last Saturday and thought they played some great music.

Portapoties - I've been to dz's with much much worse so no complaints there. I wasn't expecting the Ritz.

The weather could have been a little warmer and less cloudy.B|

I would have liked to see more vendors there. I would guess alot didn't come because they would get a week behind then have to deal with another bunch of whiney skydivers.

There were also adult locals (mostly employees of Cingular) that were walking around as well. I asked one of them if they were on their way to do a tandem and of course they said, "no, we're just seeing what's going on". Not that spectators are bad, but I personally like to know my rig is somewhat secure from whuffos.>:(

Actually, I liked not having to listen to the usual stuff I play while DJing...I was really looking forward to hearing Smack Down (and they were really good, even if they did play alot of Creed covers):)

A DJ would have been great too, but it's hard to find DJs with the setups to handle the size event we are talking about...there are enough of us jumpers who are DJs that we could have "worked" timeslots, but there's still the matter of equipment. Maybe an option for next year?B|

More shuttles from the Wuffo bleachers/swoop pond, to the A/C tents.

YES! I landed at the spectator area twice and only got a ride back once...[:/]

For all the announcements asking for people to land there, they didn't make it inviting to do(the long spots didn't help either!:S).

Most needed change for me: I would have liked my wife there with me (she couldn't get off from work). We need doctor's notes for anyone who has a tough boss!:D:P

Sugestions? Get the security to chill out a little. The 15 year old punk ass kid at the gate to the rv park saw me go by 5 time and yet still asked to see my wrist band with his respect my authority aditude. I almost got booted for riding a minie bike SLOWLY down the NON-ACTIVE runway. The runway lights where off. Its not like they where going to land a plane! I saw another guard giving people shit for taking what had to be the LAST wffc street sign. I mean come on the rest of them where already gone!
Lets face it. You can jump most of the same aircraft at local DZs for less money. Alot of people go to WFFC to cut lose, party and have fun. If security gets on people cases too much they will stop going.

Actually, you might see less vendors and aircraft at next years WFFC. This due to their being charged registration fees this year and less being done in the way of precoordinating things like room reservations ,etc. which were done for them the year prior. There are quite a few people upset with the way things went this year and many voiced it. Many of the food vendors barely broke even if at all when all was said and done. I know one food vendor I spoke with said she might not come back since she can't count on making any money above her expenses. The same holds true for gear vendors and aircraft as well. There was a drastic reduction in the amount of people at this years convention compared to last years. Subsequently, there were less lifts flown and less sold overall.

Things I wished were better would have to be:

1. More porta potties with maintenance. Last years service on them and quantity of them was perfect. You didn't have to walk half a mile to take a leak, they were clean and they all had toilet paper in them.

2. More garbage cans and more frequent service on them. Trash was overflowing on a daily basis

3. The PA system was ineffective unless you were in front of a speaker. Otherwise it just sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher talking. They also need to look at getting a few new CD's or tapes as the ones they played are really tired. The whole 911 thing every day was not needed and got old quick. It just wasn't the right time or place for that let alone first thing every morning.

4. The sound levels on the bands needs to be controlled by someone other than the bands. Many times it was actually louder in the camping area, even inside RV's ,where all you get is the Bass.

5. Definitely a bigger wind sock or tetrahedron in the landing area.

6. Showers need to be cleaned and it wouldn't hurt if they sprung for some soap dispensers or at least a tray to place your soap on. I actually liked last years set up in that I could get to the showers relatively close to were I was most of the time and where most people are to begin with.

7. Move the beer booth back to where it was last year, it made more sense.

8. Fireworks should not be allowed, we have the 4th of July for that and no one thinks they are cool at 4 in the morning.

9. The goodie bag was weak again this year, they need to work on that big time.

10. There was no soda for the non drinkers this year, so I know they were unhappy.

If Convention isn't made to be the place to be every year then even fewer people will attend in the future. Like it was said already, you can get many of the same things at smaller boogies for less and they are closer and more accommodating.
