I don't know how to tell if it's real or not. I have never used this eBay account, and don't know how to respond to this. Should I contact someone at eBay, or just let the 48 hours pass so the account will close? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Play stupid games, win stupid prizes! RevJim 0 #2 August 28, 2004 QuoteYou have recieved this email because you or someone had used your account to make fake bids at eBay. Check "My Ebay". See any bids? Probably not. I got this email a long time ago. Blew it off, and nothing ever came of it. Chances are that link you see up there is not really when the click will send you. Hover over that link and usually in the lower left corner of the window you'll see where the link really goes. You will probably see and ip address instead of a web address. It's your life, live it! LouDiamond 1 #3 August 28, 2004 It's a scam. Send it to the e-bay alert address and they will give you a difinitive answer in about 20-30 mins if not sooner. I got one like that awhile back and sent it in to them and it came back as a scam. Don't click on any of the links or go to any of the addresses in the e-mail."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Bodyflight.Net 0 #4 August 28, 2004 If you don't use this ebay account then you shouldn't worry.. BUT I would so as Rev suggests.. login to your ebay account online, and check everything out. Contact ebay from the website, not through this email.. and let them know that way.

Shotgun 1 #7 August 28, 2004 I get a lot of these. The best thing to do is to display the full headers in the message and then forward it to spoof@ebay.com. Ebay will reply to confirm that it was not a message sent from them. (You can usually tell this by looking at the full headers too - you will see that the message originated from somewhere other than an ebay server.) This will also help them to track whoever sent you the fraudulent message.

Shotgun 1 #9 August 28, 2004 I believe most of those emails are fishing for personal information (ebay password, etc.).
