dropdeded 0 #1 August 28, 2004 Recently started an online math (ALEKS) class. Im a complete idiot at math and this is going surprisingly well. I have access to "real live" instructors if and when I need them at the College Im attending. Just wondering what courses actually work in an online environment other than math. Dont know if Im just old fashioned but it doesnt seem that any of the other classes Im gonna be taking would work online. Bodyflight.Net 0 #2 August 28, 2004 6 years ago, I took every class the UofPhoenix online offered for free... html, cgi, perl, web graphics, etc... and I still make a full time job of it... I can't imagine any class that wouldn't work online, UNLESS it was a foreign language that you couldn't understand by reading alone..

skybeergodd 0 #5 August 29, 2004 I am getting my BBA(business degree) on-line thru U-of Phoenix.....it is far from easy and the cost per credit hour is the same but I'm learning ALOT and it definitely is not a bought degree....It is earned!!!!I haven't had too much trouble but there is alot of self teaching and figuring things out on your own but I can can always call or go by a satellite office and get advice so I makes things pretty easy and convenient.....and only 6 more credit hours and I'm done.......Yeah!!! a 4 year degree for me in the bag!!!! Bodyflight.Net 0 #7 August 29, 2004 Our online bodyflight course is pretty thorough.. other than actually doing it, I think you can LEARN it via online & reading.. that's why so many important flight related things are learned in seminars, classes etc.. same as cooking... follow the recipe at home in your own kitchen.. etc.. don't you think? Nope, not really - I work for a culinary school and the amount of hands on training and tweaking it takes in person is intense. It is such a fine art and very subjective plus input is needed on presentation, taste, etc....I would never recommend anyone that wanted to become a chef to take online courses. If you were looking for hobby based classes you could learn maybe just as much as gettin cooking for dummies. There are areas that online helps with, esp with the traditional english, history, math and even computer classes....but they cannot work for everything. I for one would not want an ATP pilot that received the majority of his training online._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
