Sometimes I just need beauty and inspirational things in my life.Whether its looking at a beautiful painting/photo or listening to music or just reading a nice little inspirational quote or something.It helps put things in perspective or gets me back on track. I've never understood how some people can go through life without music or without enjoying other artistic expression. With that said, I thought I'd share something my mom passed on to me this week after she found out I'm trying to get current and back in the air very soon.I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.The Far Horizon The far horizon beckcons me Above this land, so bright and free. The hills look up into the blue Amidst the cloudsteps stealing through. Such beauty in those far-off skies To ever thrill my heart and eyes. The far horizon- blue and gold- The whole wide world within its fold. No matter where, no matter when, It ever blesses us again. The miracle of time and space, A sky of filigree and lace. I gaze above and fine it all Atop each mountain, proud and tall. The magic there within my sight To lend us all a fond delight. The far horizon meets each eye Where hilltops reach to touch the sky. n2skdvn 0 #3 August 30, 2004 this is a poem my dad wrote in the 60's dont know if he ever jumped... down (in freefall and free verse) As the plane flys on alone my static line plays out, as air rushing through silk and line I count: ! second, 2seconds-three as downward I plunge. suddenly a quick jerk everything seems upended, the air up here seems cold i look aloft to check as downward i drift: Mother earth seems far away so slowly i decend clutching harness pulling lines my heart pounds furiously as downward i glide the ground now rushes up so fast it's frightening, I drop my chin,bend my knees i hit,roll,My chute collapses I am down.
