kai2k1 0 #2 August 30, 2004 I like spring, or as soon as i can take the winter weight gloves off to feel the nice spring air on my hands. There's no truer sense of flying than sky diving," Scott Cowan
turtlespeed 226 #3 August 30, 2004 September - cuz that's when i started and that's when AOT is - weather is real nice too. Cool - but not too cool - nice and BRISK BABY for that nice carve after the morning H&P just to get the juices flowing and ready for the day.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
RkyMtnHigh 0 #4 August 30, 2004 Of course you know "why"..because it's cool and crisp, the air smells good, and the fall colors and scenery is niceFall in Colorado is beautiful! Especially when the aspen leaves begin to change colors to bright orange, red, and yellow. _________________________________________
SLIDER 0 #5 August 30, 2004 I think it has something to do with living in Michigan - there's some great skydiving in MI in the fall - I agree "there's a fine line between hobby and mental illness"
cocheese 0 #6 August 30, 2004 Yea i thought it was a Michigan thing , But i think fall would be good in a lot of places that have great changing seasons.
Deuce 1 #7 August 30, 2004 Probably March. The hills around here are all emerald green then. Maybe even late winter, when we sometimes get some snow on Mt. Diablo.
CanuckInUSA 0 #8 August 30, 2004 QuoteI love the fall or Sept. Oct. Nov. and i don't know why. In my neck of the woods, our best jumping weather is in September, October and November. So yes to me this is the best time to jump (in my neck of the woods). But if I was in Eloy, well October through March is pretty darn nice as well. SLIDER 0 #9 August 30, 2004 I think every DZ has a "best time" to jump ... and we all have our favorite piece of that ........ Blue Skies.. "there's a fine line between hobby and mental illness"

Kramer 0 #11 August 31, 2004 Althought I haven't jumped in every month yet. I have to say that there is nothing nicer than jumping in the middle of July, when it's 90 degrees outside. Open that door to the plane and feel that cool air on your face...ahhh.... The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!
Cornholio 0 #12 August 31, 2004 QuoteProbably March. The hills around here are all emerald green then. Maybe even late winter, when we sometimes get some snow on Mt. Diablo. Yup got to agree there. I actually hate jumping in the late summer (now) since it's too damn hot and it slows me down so much I only make 2-3 jumps a day. The spring is definitely the best for me. I've been to about 10 dropzones and Byron definitely has the best sunsets from 10K under a canopy. You can see all the way to Tahoe and all the way to the beaches. Plus the way the setting sun lights up the rolling hills and lakes is gorgeous. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Michele 1 #13 August 31, 2004 I love both spring, when you can see the beginnings of green carpeted hills surrounding you or the panoramic sight of poppies on the hills from altitude, or fall, when the warm summer days really are turning, and you can smell the chill in the air...when the days are warm, and the nights are cool. I haven't done any "real" winter jumping, so I can't compare that. dzdiva 7 #16 August 31, 2004 I love jumping in the fall. Crisp, clear and all the beautiful colors of the trees changing. I also like jumping in the winter. The cold air is invigorating. I feel so alive.....all bundled up, face a little red from the cold, snot covering my goggles. Ahh....I love this sport."It's not just a daydream if you choose to make it your life..."
