windcatcher 0 #1 September 4, 2004 So last night instead of going out with the girls, I stayed in all night drooling over skydiving gear on the net! AHHHH!!! What's happening to me? Well, I DID have to go to bed and get up early for job orientation (yay, jump $!), but still...not having any skydiving friends at the university just makes me want to work and invest more time in my friends at the dz. Have you guys experienced anything similar? Sarah Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...

soulshine 0 #4 September 4, 2004 no, i understand what you're feeling. i'm a newbie too and i have almost got all of my gear together. i'm broke so i have had to buy it individually. i spend alot of time looking around for good deals and many nights i would rather have been partying at the dz than whatever lame club i was at. linny 1 #6 September 4, 2004 QuoteSo last night instead of going out with the girls, yup, i rarely go out with the girls anymore ***not having any skydiving friends at the university just makes me want to work and invest more time in my friends at the dz. *** ditto ditto ditto ditto Don't worry Sarah, your life is just evolving. There's nothing wrong with you Hopefully you'll find some girlfriends at your DZ that you really vibe well with. That really helps a lot when the rest of your week is spent with your girlfriends who think you're fucking crazy for jumping out of airplanes. Oh, and I've spent plenty of nights designing and re-designing my new Infiniti. It's all good. I recommend you invest in some good skydiving DVD's too. You can tell how deep they've been drawn in by the seriousness with which they go after their training and look for gear, etc. I was like you five years ago...couldn't get enough of it. Luckily the net and skydiving has evolved so that you have lots of opportunities to search on line for things. I've purchased my last two mains from DZ.com, and got great deals on both of them. Find some friends at the Uni, and turn them on to a tandem....maybe your local DZ does what some do (give a free jump ticket to the person who brought the tandem.) I need to make it up to your area sometime to check out the locals..the Hinton folks are a little too relaxed about jumping early for my taste...and Skydive Dallas is a bit far at times. No matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere is sick of her shit! I'm hanging out here at home while the party is probably just getting started at my home DZ. I'm waiting on my new main to come in and still paying for all of the other parts and pieces. I've got about a month left... It's ironic that I'm having to stay home, not jump or hang out with my friends at the DZ, so that I can save up money to pay for a new rig so that I can jump and hang out with my friends at the DZ.
