Frances stalled here last night

Recommended Posts

We had a very interesting night here last night. Frances choose to park over middle Georgia and dumped over 6 inches of rain in a few hours here. Winds with gusts to over 40 mph and tornados..I sat and watched it from the porch for a short time amazed. I honestly can't imagine how the poeple who rode out the initial storm stood it as I was as jumpy as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Luckily my home is doing well but the new construction a few lots over didn't do as well. Schools are closed today due to wind damage and flood damage to the roads or power outages.

It sort of freaks you out when you are 150 miles from the coast and it didn't even come ashore here but hit FL. I guess we really weren't prepared because we sent lots of our resources to FL thinking nothing but a little rain would hit here. I'm thinking my next major purchase will be a generator.

All this has me thinking about SkyMama. Anyone heard from her?

Spoke to her yesterday, well, she left me a VM. Shes fine, very spotty cell reception, no power and said something about her fridge. No damage yet to her or her families places but it was still raining there when she left the VM I think.

She rode this one out and is fine :)
Yesterday is history
And tomorrow is a mystery

Everybody gets a turn. In South Carolina, we are expecting as much as 8" of rain and tornados within the next 18 hours. The ground is already saturated.

I still prefer the "well used" hurricanes over the "fresh off the water" ones.

I got soaked going to and from class this morning. Arg! Haven't we had enough of hurricanes? The last one dropped a tree on my car.
