cvfd1399 0 #1 September 7, 2004 I have had my nextel phone for almost a year, and I am so fed up with it at this point I will do anything, but pay to get rid of Nextels service. One year contract left. The map they provided showed that there would be service where I work, but 80% of the time it shows none. It works 75% of the time at home. The past month or so about every other call I try to make fails showing (all circuits busy, call failed redialing, or restricted). Voice mails sometimes takes a few days to get to my phone, then after deleting them they reappear at a later date? The phone is not broken. I have heard from friends that wrote a letter to their provider telling their story, and was allowed to get out of their contract without paying the penalty. I dont think I should have to continue to pay for something that I cannot use due to their system being poor. They can have their damn phone back too. Anyone have any thoughts to help me out? mr2mk1g 10 #2 September 7, 2004 Become a member of an illegal organisation. They would be breaking the law if they were to contract with you. Of course the down side would be that you’d be liable for imprisonment on the grounds of being a member of an illegal organisation… but at least you wouldn’t have to pay for your mobile any longer.Or you could die... they wouldn't pursue you then... but I guess some cynics would say that also has a flip side to it. Life is full of it’s little up’s and downs. Hope I've been of assistance. (This message brought to you in conjunction with Ghetto Law – for all your Ghetto needs). wildblue 7 #3 September 7, 2004 Nextel blows. Try here for help getting out of it. You're probably screwed though.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
tigra 0 #4 September 7, 2004 Its probably cheaper to "suspend" your service for the balance of the contract, depending on how much longer you have left on it. I know Cingular charges a couple of dollars a month to suspend service and something like $200.00 to cancel it. Find out what it costs to supend the service and do the math! Good luck! SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 September 7, 2004 I say suck it up and pay the penalty. The sooner you are free from it, the sooner you can get screwed by the next company. I have not had "perfect" service with any of the three companies I have used, so lets just hope your next attempt gets you at least slightly better results. flyangel2 2 #6 September 7, 2004 I was on a shared plan with a friend. (Verizon) That friend moved to where he was getting a shitty signal. I just called the cell phone company and told them what was going on. We got out of the contract.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
