TheAnvil 0 #51 September 1, 2004 I heard that too Bo. It would suck major ass. I live at the beach and will probably have some damage to my home, I'm sure. Quite depressing, as I just bought it recently, but that's the breaks I guess. Thank God for hurricane insurance. ChasingBlueSky 0 #52 September 1, 2004 Exactly - I understand the "hurricane party" mentality that many people in Florida have, and why they have it....but this isn't one to play with. Body bags will pile up if this one isn't treated seriously. Depending on where this one lands, and if it hits as a Cat5 it could be one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the state. The only problem is, nobody knows which direction to run yet By the time the official warning and evacuations come out later tonight, 75 and 95 will be packed. Hope you are ready to hit the road if needed._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... skybytch 273 #55 September 1, 2004 QuoteI'm getting plywood for the windows this afternoon. Hope you're not too late. I heard this morning that there isn't a sheet of plywood left to be purchased within a 20 mile radius of where I'm at... My question is how do I fit a couple boxes of stuff too important to leave behind, camping gear, a couple bottles of water, food for me and the dog, a week's worth of clothes, a 5 gallon gas can, the dog and me into my little car so I can escape this crazy state? TheAnvil 0 #62 September 1, 2004 Great minds think alike, Lisa! I'm getting some irreplacables together as well. Hope I'm not too late on that plywood thing. Duct tape will have to do other wise. Or perhaps some pressed particle board or peg board or something. Making a brace for my garage door as well. Think tomorrow morning the projected path will let us know pretty much who is getting slammed and when. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! Jib 0 #65 September 1, 2004 I was at Publix in Boca at 10 am. There were about 30 6-gal cases of water left. Plenty of canned food etc. People were going nuts at Sears trying to buy generators yesterday. bendywendy 0 #68 September 1, 2004 Ok, this whole thing is my fault. It's going to crush Sebastian like a little cockroach because I said it would make the move a whole lot easier. I personally would like to already be on the run as far away from this state as possible but no...we've got a dropzone to batten down. A couple of knuckleheads are talking hurricane party in the team room building. I'm trying to get help putting everything into bins and storing them in one of the corner team rooms. I'm going to send the rigs out with the plane tomorrow morning and I wish I could be on it but I've got a big dog and I don't think our pilot likes dogs so that's a problem. I'd really, really like to be driving my standard vehicle with my broken arm in a sling and my slobbering dog beside me right now. Really, really, really I don't like hurricanes I'm a NE girl! We get blizzards.
