Ugh, I wish they could figure this one out. We're supposed to go to a soccer tournament in Jax this weekend. Anyone want to place any bets on if we'll be going?

rude, no. I just don't think it's going to turn as far north as predicted for some reason. Perhaps because both of my bosses are out of town this weekend, I'm in charge of an entire assisted living if this shit hits the fan, and I have NO clue what to do.

Regardless of where it hits, lookat the size of that storm. It's big enough to eat Florida alive.

I know. Truth be told, I'm rather nervous about this one.The good news is that they don't usually come this far inland. The bad news is that the last one did, and it could happen again. That's a freakin huge storm. At least my house doesn't have wheels, contrary to popular belief.:D

Now would I do something stupid like that?;)
OK, you're right, of course I would. But I won't because of the kids. Hell I've been known to try and ride my skateboard holding on to a garbage bag in gail force winds. Not the smartest thing I've ever done but we had a great time.:D

Hey, what's the current bet for Fort Lauderdale? :P

I'm just hoping that school will give us a day off so we have an option to go if we need to. I don't know, what's better...the east coast, my friend's concrete house in Miami, my Mom's place in New Orleans, or my third floor apartment here?

If it comes this far south, I am going to be one sad girl to leave all my things behind not knowing what it will look like when I return.

Maybe I'll just buy a lot of beer and camp out with a few good books! B| Even better, I'll bring my tent up to my room just in case the roof flies off.

Seriously, this storm is SO big and SO well-developed, it looks quite intimidating. What are all you East coast Floridians planning to do?

You just read my mind, and yes I'm very concern about this one, every time I look at the news seems that it's coming towards me, adjusting direction so it hits me.

I was listening to a weatherman on the radio this morning. He said going to the west coast would be a good idea for anyone who had concerns about living on the east coast. He also mentioned that the storm will probably slow down. Good news for damage control but bad news for anyone wanting to jump in FL this weekend. It means the rain will just kind of sit over us for awhile if that happens.

As of right now, I'll be at a huricane party in Jupiter or staying at my place. If the shit starts to hit the fan, I'm headed to Miami (with the hosts of said party to ground zero for Andrew -- the six story building survived intact) or Naples-ish.

Goodness...they said this is the first time a hurricane might make landfall with the east coast since they've started keeping records 100 years ago. The system is so large and slow moving, they are saying it will take 18-24 hours to make it across central Florida. That's 18 hours of winds ranging from 85-145 mph. Charley was nothing compared to this. B|
