happythoughts 0 #1 September 9, 2004 I was looking at weather.com. Checking on some hurricane stuff. Guess what? They have a store. I can understand people who have hobbies and wish to say something about themselves. You skydive or ski or bike, so you get a shirt/hat that advertises your interest to other people. It gives you a common element to discuss... but the weather channel? Is that like the ultimate "I want to talk to anyone" shirt? "Hi, we have weather where I live, how about you? Do you ever have weather?"

I'm interested in all aspect of weather, but especially like cumulo-nimbus. I like long walks on the beach during times of low humidity and late-afternoon showers. I love romantic evenings on the couch when we can't go out because of a micro-downburst."

happythoughts 0 #12 September 9, 2004 T-shirts and hats are a non-permanent, open statement. People are walking by, and you just want to say something about yourself. "Hi, I think/do..." You can change shirts with your mood and discard them when you want. If you meet someone with common interests, you can stop and chat. Bumper stickers. You don't want to stop your car and chat. You aren't open to discussion, you are just informing random people. It's kind of like, "I'm telling you this... and don't tailgate me to read it" Tattoos. You aren't telling everyone, just some (depending on the spot), and it is permanent. I don't feel that strongly about most stuff. I do enjoy applying the temporary ones though. So, what is the point of a t-shirt that says "weather"? What is it saying? "Nope, I've got no life."

Now...Mike, didn't we have the "being nice when posting" talk? A lot of people here know each other quite well and have many shared experiences. Sometimes, we even see pictures. Do you still use your CB radio "handle" still?
