SpeedRacer 1 #1 September 9, 2004 I am planning on going to the Rennaissance fair in Crownsville MD. Does anyone know of any campgrounds nearby there? Or is it possible to pitch a tent nearby?? They've got some really good ales & meads there, but I don't wanna drive home afterwards. Any ideas where I can find info re. nearby accomodations/camping? or should I just hide my tent in a field nearby? We used to get in for free if we dressed up in period garb. :^) Bring back some bawdy stories and jokes, k?! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
BGill 0 #3 September 9, 2004 Oh man! Ren Fest is so awesome, I really wish I could go this year. I can't help you out with where you should stay, but I can give some recommendations on what to see. Make sure you check out the Bloody Dramas. Last season they had 3 of them, but there might be more now. My drama teacher from high school (funniest guy I know) and his friends do the show, it's an improv comedy with lots of audience interaction. My favorite act at Ren Fest. Also, check out Johnny Fox the sword swallower. He's so dirty and rude but its f'in hilarious. Have fun!

SpeedRacer 1 #5 September 10, 2004 I know one of the vendors there. He runs the bee shop (they sell honey, beeswax candles, etc.) But the guy who runs it makes his own mead. I know him thru my homebrewing club. He doesn't sell the mead, he makes it himself as a hobby. Last year I went there, he took me in the back room & pulled out about half a dozen different types of mead. Spiced, fruit, dry, sweet, etc., he had made all different varieties. I had a pretty good buzz when I walked out of that store. Renaissance fairs rock! (and I finally figured it out: renaissance has a SINGLE n and DOUBLE s.) SpeedRacer 1 #6 September 10, 2004 It would be neat if ren fairs were more like boogies. The revelry would go on into the night, and I could just stagger over to my tent & pass out whenever I wanted to. that's the way I'd run the fair. vamp 0 #7 September 10, 2004 http://www.pinetreeclub.org/ Not only is it right by the RenFaire, it also is "a strong supporter of the ASA (now known as the American Association for Nude Recreation, AANR) and the Eastern Sunbathing Association (ESA). Members have served both of these fine organizations." Enjoy.
