Why being your own businessman rocks.

Recommended Posts

So I had two court appearances this morning. My wife had another one.

I come back from court into my office to find my son in his bassinet waiting for me with my secretary doting over him.

You know, being able to raise your son and work - knowing that he spends just about 24/7 with either mommy or daddy - is about the greatest feeling ever. The benefits of running your own business.

Conor's sleeping now after I just fed him. A nice little half hour break from the daily grind. Nothing beats working with Baby Einstein playing in the background. :)
Now to collect on that 25k judgment I just got today!

My wife is hotter than your wife.

Nice. :)

I wish I could agree with your subject line though. At the moment all I can think of is why being an owner instead of an employee sucks.

If I were an employee I could get unemployment for the time my store has to be closed because we have no power, no phone and are located on a dz that has no power, no phone and no plane (and therefore no customers) - and isn't likely to have any of those three items for another week or more.

My rent's due today. Anybody wanna buy my rig? [:/]

I agree. Little did my Gravity Gear customers know that I was breast feeding while I had my headphones on giving Gear Consultaions and taking phone orders.

Sorry for the visual.

It gets a bit more challenging as they grow. But I had the pleasure of bringing my daughter to work every day for two and a half years. At that point she needed more stilmulation and I needed a break.

She is intelligent beyond her years. I think that parent interaction in the first couple of years is awesome. It's great when you can pull it off with two working parents.

I wish the best for you expanding family!
