turtlespeed 226 #1 September 13, 2004 Really Fukn sucks! another incident from the gulf - wade fishing leg is gone so far - prognosis not too good. This time it is someone I know.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
gemini 0 #2 September 13, 2004 As we discussed in an earlier thread, this bacteria is endemic to the bays and backwaters of the gulf. Usually the influx of salt water is enought to keep it in check, but with all the rain this year the salinity of the bays and backwaters is down and the bacteria is more prevalent. Don't wade or swim if you have open sores or cuts on you! Blue skies, Jim
freeflir29 0 #3 September 14, 2004 I took ONE look at the water in Gulf Port, MS and asked myself......."Who the hell would even wade in that crap!" Best of luck to your friend!
mouth 0 #4 September 14, 2004 I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I'm sure Conway can so relate if you need an ear to vent to. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
peacefuljeffrey 0 #5 September 14, 2004 Sorry to hear about your friend's illness. You know, sometimes it starts to seem like our entire environment is just hostile to our continued existence, period. It reminds me of the Simpsons halloween episode where Bart wakes up from a nightmare about the teachers eating the students, and Marge is there to reassure him that there's nothing to be afraid of, "Except maybe that fog that turns people inside out!" (at which point the fog gets through Homer's "stupid, cheap weatherstripping" and turns the family inside out) Hope your friend recovers. I also hope your friend gets better.
Ncrowe 0 #7 September 14, 2004 These stories always hit close to home as I grew up wade fishing all over the gulf coast, sabine lake and roll over pass etc. We did some wade fishing for flounder last week and I had these stories in the back of my mind. Best of luck to your friend. "Don't Mess Around With the Guy in Shades- Oh No!!! "
