Mounting an Altitrack to the Bonehead Altimeter mount

Recommended Posts

Hey,

At first I cut a plastic cover and used hot glue on the mount, and I used a dome to keep the flap shut so I could remove it.

One jump and the pocket tore open. Luckily I didn't lose the alti. Now I drilled a couple of holes in the mount, and use wire ties to hold it on. I don't strap down the top, so I can still flip it up and look at the data. Maybe that's weird, maybe it's dangerous, but no one else had any better ideas. I can post pics later if you need them.

Good luck.

L&B has a flat mounting platform that will replace the curved one of the wrist mount. I have made a prototype mudflap mount for my altitrack. It is larger compared to BH mount. The alti is oriented so that the data port is towards my chest. The mount has a slot at the front that the small velcro of the finger loop attaches through. I use a piece of two sided velcro that loops under the mount, then through the 2 wrist strap holes and then back onto itself. The mount has a couple of notches that this strap sits in to hold the alti securely in place. It is easy to loosen the two sided velcro so the alti can shift sideways enough to install the data transfer cable. The base of the mount is cut out so you can read the digital display and access the buttons. Looking forward to receiving the flat platform so I can give it a test in the air.

Once I get home, I'll take some photos. Might give you some ideas on how to attach to the BH mount.
50 donations so far. Give it a try.
