kelel01 1 #7 September 20, 2004 The doctor tells you "It's an ulcer", or "It's heartburn". At least that's how I'd know.
JRock 0 #8 September 20, 2004 An ulcer I believe is bacteria eating a hole in the lining of you stomach. Heart burn is the acid in your stomach eat the lining in your esophagus.

Deuce 1 #15 September 21, 2004 QuoteOkay, but then where do you feel those acids? In the throat, or the stomach, or in the chest? Is this a quiz, or are you really asking? I had acid reflux (heartburn) and it hurt like hell in the middle of my chest, at the bottom of my esophagus. Sometimes when I'd cough I'd get a bile taste in the back of my throat. Ulcers are basically sores on the interior of your stomach or intestine that don't heal. Untreated they can eat through to the other side of your stomach or intestine creating a "perforated ulcer". They generally hurt like really bad stomach aches, depending on where they are. If I had one, I wouldn't name it, cause I'd be working like hell to eliminate it. Easier to eliminate a nameless enemy. "Ulcer" would be good enough for me.
