Fireflyer 0 #1 September 18, 2004 To windy to jump today despite not a cloud in the sky. I have been SO busy with work and travel and this has been the first weekend in over a MONTH I could jump. Granted, local boros near me were evacuated just last night for flooding (7-8 inches of rain), but man I was bummed: 34 mph on the ground and no one really at the DZ. Should be better tomorrow I was told. Great. I have to work!
cvfd1399 0 #2 September 18, 2004 I am with you Ivan was a pain in the ass. I was pumped all weekend to jump on my one day off(saturday) but old coast was closed to clean up......It is a 2.5 hour drive or I would be there helping...
adrenalinejunki 0 #3 September 18, 2004 Ivan caused me to have to lay down in a foot and a half of soupy mud to fix a truck. We all had to wade this shit for the entire 14 hour day. Not including driving 3 hours home while wet and covered with mud. Getting knocked out of a days jumping was also worrying me to though. But it moved out faster than they thought so I got lucky. __________________________________________________What's the worst that can happen?
bch7773 0 #4 September 19, 2004 I hear you. we can't jump all weekend due to winds over 30 mph and gusting higher. I don't think its Ivan since we in kansas, but its still annoying. MB 3528, RB 1182

I am in the national guard in tallahassee and they called us up to go help over in pensicola... so we have missed about 3 weeks of school.... and have no idea when we will be able too return.... But hey... I still have my health... and my gear-------------------------------------------------- What doesn't kill you... only requires brief hospitalization!! murps2000 86 #7 September 21, 2004 Yeah, we all have our problems because of Ivan. He brought some tornados through here and in Virginia, as well as several other places, I'm sure. I feel bad for those people down there in western Florida, tho. That's some scary looking shit. Hope the Gold Coast skydivers are doing okay.

Could be worse, my brother evacutaed from Mobile to Atlanta for the storm only to have the National Guard call him up to ship out to Afghanistan in 3 weeks. As soon as he returned home he was called to help out in Gulf Shores, AL for the last 3 days. Ivan and associated rain caused massive flooding and landslides here in Western, NC killing at least 4 of my neighbors with another 4 missing. So like I said it could be worse kwakSometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. Sometimes your the hammer sometimes your the nail. Question is Hun, Do you wanna get hammered or do you wanna get nailed?????
Ian84 0 #9 September 21, 2004 Man I'd love to kick Ivan's ass. My car is totalled and most of my friends have lost their jobs and some their homes. My boss had no insurance and there was about $500,000 of damage to and looting of scuba gear where I worked (Cayman Islands). Fingers crossed Gene slows down.
