FlailingJohn 0 #1 September 21, 2004 ok we all got an idea of what some of the best comedies on tv are from another thread. What about the worst comedies ever shown on television. My first 3 nominations are: Full house, Americas funniest home videos(they old one with bob saget and the newer one) and some of Foxes comedies when they were a young network, shows such as "Get a life" I am pretty sure that their are ones that are far worse but that all i can think of right now >>>I threw my confidence out the airplane door years ago......... AggieDave 6 #2 September 21, 2004 Married With Children. Worst. Show. Ever. I know some folks liked it, from day one I thought that show sucked HARD. Oh and Fresh Prince of BellAir.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
FlailingJohn 0 #3 September 21, 2004 I would never of thought married with children being one of the worst shows. I think any show that uses too much of the "canned laughter" should be a nomination.I threw my confidence out the airplane door years ago......... Lainey 0 #5 September 21, 2004 Everybody Loves Raymond. Just not funny. Also, I doubt any of you would ever have seen it but the aussie show, Skithouse, is just the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen... it's so far beyond lame. . FlailingJohn 0 #6 September 21, 2004 I cannot believe i forgot about this one. The american version of the BBC show "coupling" How bad was it? The american version of coupling to me seemed to much of a carbon copy of the british version and the actor should of been able to develop into there own character and not copy the british actors. The american version was canceled after only a few episodes. >>>>I threw my confidence out the airplane door years ago.........

Sheenster303 0 #9 September 21, 2004 Hey now I loved Full House! I never really found Seinfeld funny. It just annoyed me. I mean there were some episodes I thought were kinda funny, but overall, I never saw what all the hype was about.I'm so funny I crack my head open! PurpleWill 1 #10 September 21, 2004 South Africa has got some really bad shit that leans heavily on unbelievable stereotypical extremes. For the shows that everybody will know about I would probably go for one of those sitcoms that tries to teach you a lesson with each episode. Something like "Full House" is a good example. I enjoyed "Married with Children" purely for the irritation it caused the ladies. On an occasion I have assumed the Al Bundy posture on the couch and hollered for a beer. That was shortly followed by vigorous apologies and a peace offering. There is a lot of stuff worth doing but then there is a lot of stuff worth doing instead. Trust me, Seinfeld has a very profoundly different effect on anyone who has lived (especially grown up) in the NY/Long Island/NYC area. It has a special place in our hearts. FlyingJ 0 #13 September 21, 2004 What was that show with Jim J. Bullock on in the mid-80s. There was a large breasted blond that the joked about wearing a sweater backwards making the owner look like a hunchback. Quite possibly the worst show I have ever seen.Killing threads since 2004. Wasn't his name spelled just "Jm"? Anyway, was the show you're thinking of "Too Close for Comfort"? With Ted Knight as a cartoonist who wrote "Cosmic Cow"? They always did that stupid thing about how he couldn't sit down on his daughters' couch without rolling over the back of the loose cushions. Ugh. happythoughts 0 #24 September 21, 2004 For me, the worst comedies are the formula programs. Cast: Smart-alec, abrasive, sarcastic woman. Constantly-in-trouble, bumbling male parent. Kids who run the lives of their inept parents. The example is the new show starring George from Seinfeld. Of course, Raymond from "Everybody loves Raymond" is an embarrassment. Of course, I have a special enmity that I reserve for Ross (Friends). Not only is he an apologist for being anything near male, he sucks as an adult of any sex. It grates on my nerves to even see him. It's an aversion to whiny losers of any sex.

Kids who run the lives of their inept parents. I'm with ya there. I'm so tired of shows with smart alec kids being in control. And people wonder why kids act the way they do nowadays. And my main reason for hating Everybody Loves Raymond is the way the wife treats Raymond. All she does is point out every flaw he has. It's disgusting that people find humor in a man getting made fun of every day of his life. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
