jb092 0 #1 September 23, 2004 I am getting a free tuition from the Air Force to goto school. I got a bill in August saying there was a $1500 credit to my account. The Air Force had over paid...I thought. Today I get a bill saying I owe $1100 for fees, the AF only pays for tuition. Does this seem like a "fucking" going on here??? What could possibly go wrong? katiebear21 0 #2 September 23, 2004 Sounds a bit sketchy. I went to college on an Army scholarship and never paid any "fees". Katie Get your PMS glass necklace here
jb092 0 #3 September 23, 2004 I am taking the origonal bill back to see what they have to say about it. Some of the guys in my unit who are going to school to never heard of this either. What could possibly go wrong?
DrunkMonkey 0 #4 September 23, 2004 If you're ROTC, talk to your Commandant. If your ADAF, contact the Ed Center or your Flt/CC. If you're ex-mil, Good luck--you gotta wade thru an ocean of VA horseshit...
SarahC07 0 #5 September 23, 2004 HA! yeah... tuition and fees buddy.... seems to me that they would cover the fees too, though .... But at A&M you have 'health services fees' and 'transportation fees' and so many other fees that you are charged for regardless of whether or not you use them.... sucks- YEP! Sorry..... ChasingBlueSky 0 #6 September 23, 2004 Jack, If it is an accredited school they have to disclose all costs on the enrollment agreement by law or they could lose their accrediation and/or Title IV funding. Look back at the paperwork they gave you, it should all be listed. If it isn't you may want to rethink what school you are going to. It is very typical of the military to mess with what they will pay. Almost everyone former military person I have helped go back to school has ended up in paperwork hell that usually delays their start by many months. However, the military usually only pays tuition, not fees. Sometimes fees is another word for books, supplies, activity fee, student ID, reduced bus fare card, etc. But that is usually stuff not covered by any of the armed forces. Call me if you have any questions. Congrats on going back to school thou._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
