I always knew how to spell it, but (this has happened to me before) I couldn't pronounce it right away. I kept wanting to pronounce it the way that it was spelled out. I kept having to force myself to say it the right way, until it stuck. Then, I kept wondering if I was even saying it right, but I didn't want to embarrass myself or him by asking.
