hooked 0 #27 September 27, 2004 What a view!!!!! Great picture! I'm not sure I would want front row seats though, should anything dramatic happen.J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. EricTheRed 0 #28 September 27, 2004 The power of a zoom lens. I'm really about 30 miles out. I recall the first trip back into the "red zone" after the May 18th eruption. It was truely and totally awesome. Make you realize just how small and insignificant we really are. Hurricanes/tornados/earthquakes are one thing but blasting several thousand feet off of the top of a mountain is something else. I've got a great photo (film of course) of the 1st eruption- -I'll have to scan it in someday I guess and shareillegible usually
hooked 0 #29 September 27, 2004 I remember going there after the eruption and it was a scene that seemed so unreal! Total devastation, trees down like toothpicks and nothing green remaining. To go back numerous times and see vegetation slowly regrowing is awesome. J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. skiskyrock 0 #30 September 27, 2004 Here is pic of the St. Helens crater taken from Camp Muir on Rainier on 9/25. I remeber thinking it would suck to be there if it blew again.

PhreeZone 20 #32 September 27, 2004 New Mexico will be the place I retire to. Nevada, Cali, Arizona, Utah, NM all get Forest fires. Texas, OK, Kansas, and the Midwest get Tornados. The Dakota's, ID, CO, MO get Artic temps. Fl, GA, AL, LA, TX, NC, SC, VA, DC all get Hurricanes. Hawaii gets Tidal waves and lava. West coast states get volcanos. Overall I am yet to see a place that I'd rather live then in NM Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
slug 1 #33 September 27, 2004 QuoteAnd I've got front row seats... the view from my deck is below Hi Red Nice pic dude Please don't post that stuff traffic's bad enough without more folks moving here. FWIW Eric probably has a roof over his deck because it rains all the time, and that nice shot was tken between rain drops or bands of "Industrial haze". R.I.P.
