Give it up for DzDiva!

Recommended Posts

With less than 30 jumps, Laurie (DzDiva) did a stand up >downwind< landing after a 4 way.
No one else in her group was able to stand it up (the wind reversed direction 40 seconds prior to landing), Did I mention she had to land, going downhill?;)
Yeah Laurie!:)

WTG Diva.
Landing DOWNHILL makes it easier;) the ground don't rise up to meet you as fast:)
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)

:|SHe was worried today about her last landing on her knees on the taxi way.
With wind to her back and not having to really run it out, she's gotten over the last happenings
;)

Oh so hot... tsssssssss!!!!!!!! Good job!

I have to ask though, do you not have a wind sock or any another applicable wind indicator at your DZ?

(Maybe a learning experince here! Always *EVERY* jump check your wind indicators for shifts in ground winds. I made 5 jumps on Saturday and EVERY jump was at least 45* different than the last one!)

I'll shead some light on the picture:
1) the wind had been going North all day
2) the wind can die instantly with all the buildings
3) rules state ALL jumps stick with main landing plan
the wind shift was seconds before LANDING and following the sock would have multiple landing direction for the same load.
