windcatcher 0 #29 September 27, 2004 :: Yeah I thought I'd get to finish up AFF today, but everyone was at the Casa boogie and I had too much homework! But, I did get to see some big, white puffy clouds as I took an airplane to Indiana to be a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding. It sure was weird being in a commerical airplane...with seats...and no rig! Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
FlyingJ 0 #30 September 27, 2004 0:9: Yet another freakin awesome weekend at The Farm. Why did I wait so long to start skydiving!!! First two way and coach jumps. First attempt at something a little larger than a two way that didn't quite work (turns out they weren't kidding when my AFFIs told me I fall like a dump truck). First non-tandem from a Super Otter. And to top off the weekend, first time watching someone wake up on their air mattress in the middle of the swoop pond! Killing threads since 2004. Deuce 1 #31 September 27, 2004 Huge weekend of skydiving. Perfect wind-free weekend at Byron. Did a lot of RW and a couple fun FF jumps Friday, a photo shoot out of the Heli on Saturday, 7 tandems, and a few more fun jumps. Did nothing but photography today. Holy shit. Did vertical mount stills of PD Velocity CRW. Good Golly Miss Molly that was hard and fast. Jumped the PAC for the first time. I don't care for it. Even Connie, our 5'4" tandem IE had a hard time getting her passenger out of it. Part of the deal is knowing how to exit a 206 and a KingAir, and not knowing the tricks of getting out of the PAC, but I asked one of the Davis tandem masters about the tricks and he admitted he'd rather do tandems out of the Caravan. The interior is too small and the door is too short. The blast on the step is heinous, compared to anything else I've jumped, and I saw a jumper crack his head on the flap on exit. As jumpers manifested today, they were willing to wait longer to jump the 1965 KingAir rather than the 2004 PAC. Unless Cessna steps up and produces a cost-effective FrankenCaravan though, the PAC is the future of skydiving. I'm sure we'll get used to it. A beautiful boogie. I really am looking forward to the Holiday Boogie where my job is to jump with the DZ.commers.
sunshine 2 #32 September 27, 2004 1:0:0 1 super fun shopping trip to walmart on saturday with an awesome skyboy. 0 jumps cause i was busy being everyone's packin bitch again. Got a semi-drunk dial from Jib. And of course he made fun of me for being in bed by 10:00 on saturday night. My most interesting phone call was this morning. When someone says "i lost my vibrator somewhere in the hanger. If you find it will you grab it for me?" well only at a DZ could you get a phone call like that. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! skyyhi 0 #39 September 27, 2004 :5:0 Had a great day on Sunday. . . 1 really bad attempt at a sitfly 2 REALLY FAST two-way RW jumps with Aubrey (ATSAUBREY). Yeah, even my puny butt could keep up with him. First jump we did a front pin exit and I was to go head down after we got out. . .but when we broke, we were on level. . .I did attempt a head down but with the weight belt on (only 10 lbs), I couldn't get stable. Second jump did a side body exit and got in 5 points with him. Then I made a quick jaunt over to Perris to get in a couple jumps there as warm up for Nationals. A great ending to my weekend.________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
