i got in trouble at work...

Recommended Posts

no, not for posting and reading dz.com all day.:D believe it or not, while i was away last week the workplace safety dudes came around making a list. i got noted for having a bottle of windex on my desk without it being accompanied by a WHIMIS document. since i had no easy access to said document, i was forced to store it in a closed cabinet. being the safety concious person i am, i immediately labled my scissors with a 'do not run with these' sticker. i love working for the government.:S

That's probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard!

No it's not. I had to pass on to an employee that she had committed a similar offense (spray fertilizer in a Windex bottle with the label torn off, and left right next to the plant).

Not only did I have to pass on that ridiculous finding, but I had to enforce it too.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Year 1:The IRS agent came in and said we could not buy their lunch in the company cafeteria even when we were discussing issues. But they could buy their own and sit with us.

Year 2: The IRS agent came in and said they could not sit at the same table in the company cafeteria with us even to discuss issues. But they could still eat in the cafeteria.

Year 3: The IRS agent came in and said they could not eat in the company cafeteria.

Year 4: The IRS agent said they had to bring their own coffee because they could not drink the company provided coffee.

At this point I jokingly asked if the next year they would not be able to use the company provided parking, electricity and office.

Since I left shortly after that, I've often wondered what year 5 required them to do.

Blue skies,

Jim

Okay, well tearing off labels and replacing the content without relabeling it...that's a problem. Everything should be labeled, but to see actual Windex as a safety hazard? Haven't you ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Windex is the best thing for everything!!!

It doesnt' do well as deodorant. I tried it a few years ago...the results were a thumbs down.

Well, it does shrink large pimples, cool off burns, take the place of antibiotic cream if you can't find any, and take stains out of very light carpet that you don't want to use Resolve or any kind of bleach on. Never tried it as deodorant.

Thats because it was not windex but fertilizer......:S

And had it been properly labeled you would have none that! That might also explain any unexplained accelerations in hair growth in that region...
