jkwon 0 #1 October 1, 2004 30 days to find a new position within my company or I get my exit interview on Oct. 31. Anyone looking for a network consultant?? I'm nothing but smiles though...spirits are high...and I am praying to God the clouds break so I can make a jump as an unemployed personnel. Oh...if you want my resume I can get that for you too...but it is on one of these posts somewhere.--joe HISPA #69 The Best Band in the WORLD!!! jkwon 0 #7 October 1, 2004 Thanks hon. I'm not too worried. I worked for a huge company and I'll probably get hired by a different division before Oct. 31st. At least this gives me 2 months of free money. :) I think I'll get hired by a new division and not start till after my pay out period is over AND my vacation is taken. So that leaves 7 weeks plus this month for a total of 11 weeks. WOAH!--joe HISPA #69 The Best Band in the WORLD!!! livendive 8 #10 October 1, 2004 I got a pink slip last October announcing my lay-off date of November 14th. I got a sweet severance package, collected unemployment for 3 weeks, and then started a new job closer to home that's much more interesting and earns me 35% more. I have a very large raise in the works right now, and by November 14th this year (1 year from my layoff), I have a reasonable expectation of earning over twice what I was making at the job that laid me off. Getting laid off was one of the best things that's happened to my checking account and my mood while commuting each morning. Make the best of it. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" Blues, Dave I've been talking about quitting for a few months now..and getting laid off just means I get a severance pay...and the pay for my vacation that I didn't take this year. On top of that it gives me free time during the week to play more gigs with my band. I'm not concerned. Coming out of a large company carries a certain amount of weight. I still plan on doing the things I planned on doing before being laid off.--joe HISPA #69 The Best Band in the WORLD!!!
